The Stair of Two Seas

Imagined polis. At dawn, a water carrier pauses where three public terraces climb across a narrow island saddle. The lower court receives boats and goods; the shaded middle stoa holds the market; the upper route turns toward a sanctuary visible from both seas. The place never existed, but its retaining walls, columned walks, stone stairs, drainage channels, painted plaster, and processional movement draw on Classical Greek building principles. The architecture is invented to ask how one civic route might join water, trade, ritual, shade, and two horizons.
