Waves Keep the Secret

Waves whisper fate as Urashima Tarō frees a turtle from a tearing net.

Urashima Tarō meets the Turtle's eyes and cuts the cords cleanly.

The sea brightens, and he hears a distant, bubbling promise.

Shore Rescue

That promise rides the salt wind as the Turtle returns, beckoning Urashima Tarō.

He climbs onto the Turtle's shell, and they plunge through glittering water.

The Dragon Palace rises from coral gardens, gates opening before Princess Otohime.

Shell music echoes through halls, leading them toward lantern glow and marvels.

Ride Below

Lantern glow bathes Princess Otohime as she welcomes Urashima Tarō warmly.

He feasts and watches dancers as time loosens, and the Dragon Palace comforts.

Longing for shore, Princess Otohime gives a tamatebako and warns never to open it.

The tamatebako hums like tide in his hands as currents lift him.

Pearl Banquet

The same humming tide lingers as he surfaces, clutching the tamatebako tight.

Huts have faded to dust, names are forgotten, and the harbor holds strangers.

Urashima Tarō calls for family, but only wind answers across stones.

From the tamatebako, a warm breath of sea smoke touches his cheek.

A Changed Shore

That sea smoke curls around trembling fingers as he lifts the tamatebako lid.

White mist pours out, and Urashima Tarō feels his hair turn silver.

Wrinkles bloom as strength drains, and the tamatebako closes while the shore quiets.
