On the night berm, Mara saw the first pale stem bending past the roses, straight toward the Control Room.

Under blue security lights, the night-blooming Atomic Flowers kept leaning, petal by petal, as if listening through the soil.

Plant pathologist Mara knelt with her sample shears, and the stems were warm, humming faintly against her gloved fingers.

Mara checked the estate map, and every curve in the planting beds pointed to the same locked door.

The Pull

Behind the locked door, the Control Room glowed with monitors and one pulsing red line no brochure had mentioned.

Then Mara noticed the roots under the glass, weaving a perfect arrow at her feet.

The Atomic Flowers were gathering around a warning, not reaching for light.

The hum deepened, and Mara pressed her palm to the window while the Atomic Flowers opened all at once.

The Atomic Flowers showed silver centers like tiny mirrors, reflecting the red line across Mara's eyes.

Mara lifted the emergency phone, and outside the Neutron Garden berm kept pointing at the Control Room, patient as a hand on her shoulder.
