Beneath a crust of crimson salt, excavators mapped a branching channel network with precisely terraced walls and repeated dark regulators. The first reading was planetary water distribution. But abrasion grooves and sorted sediment climb toward the high basin in every exposed branch. Whatever moved through these channels, gravity alone cannot explain its direction.
