Motorola Project Maxwell: a wearable camera for contextual AI

Three Motorola Project Maxwell camera wearable prototypes held in a hand

NEWS · Concept retrospective · Revealed at CES 2026

Motorola’s Project Maxwell is a proof-of-concept wearable that combines cameras, microphones and AI assistance in a small object worn on the body. The company demonstrated it at CES 2026 as a way for an assistant to use what you see and hear when responding to a request.[1]

One proposed example is listening to a conference session and helping draft a LinkedIn post about it. The device is meant to connect context with actions across apps, rather than simply record a transcript. Lenovo continued to describe Maxwell as a concept in its later discussion of personal AI.[2][3]

The distinctive idea is a shared point of view. Availability, final specifications and dependable everyday behaviour remain open questions; Maxwell is not an announced shipping product.[4]
