Are You Ready for an AI Copilot at Work?

Q1. Your employer offers an AI copilot that works inside the tools you already use. Which response best reflects the workplace conditions associated with more frequent use?
- Try it only if your manager supports experimentation and it integrates well with existing systems
- Use it immediately for every task, without checking whether it fits your workflow
- Avoid it because employer-provided tools are generally used less often
- Use it only after replacing all existing work processes with AI-based ones
Answer: Try it only if your manager supports experimentation and it integrates well with existing systems[[cite:1]]
Q2. You use a copilot to prepare a client-facing draft, but you are unsure whether its answer is accurate. What is the most prepared response?
- Review the output and apply independent judgment before using it
- Send the answer without checking because copilots are designed to replace judgment
- Delete the tool and avoid documenting the concern
- Share confidential information with the tool to improve its accuracy
Answer: Review the output and apply independent judgment before using it[[cite:2]]
Q3. Your team wants to use a copilot with confidential client information. Which next step best reflects the recommended privacy approach?
- Confirm whether the data is approved for the tool and understand how the provider stores and uses submitted data
- Enter the information first and ask about data handling only if a problem occurs
- Use the tool because all workplace copilots automatically protect confidential information
- Copy the information into an unapproved tool if it produces better results
Answer: Confirm whether the data is approved for the tool and understand how the provider stores and uses submitted data[[cite:3]]
Q4. Your organization is considering an AI system that could affect employee performance decisions. Which governance approach is most prepared?
- Treat AI as decision support, require meaningful human review, and allow a qualified person to reject or override its result
- Let the system make the final decision whenever its confidence score is high
- Use the system without assigning an owner because the vendor is accountable for all outcomes
- Deploy first and create review procedures only after an affected employee challenges a result
Answer: Treat AI as decision support, require meaningful human review, and allow a qualified person to reject or override its result[[cite:4]][[cite:5]]
Q5. Your organization has several AI tools, including vendor-embedded features, but no central record of them. Which action would most improve preparedness?
- Create an organization-wide inventory listing each system's purpose, owner, deployment status, and risk classification
- Allow each team to track only the tools it personally purchased
- Publish a general AI statement without recording specific systems
- Wait until an incident occurs before identifying which tools are in use
Answer: Create an organization-wide inventory listing each system's purpose, owner, deployment status, and risk classification[[cite:6]][[cite:7]]
Q6. A copilot has been approved and deployed. Which ongoing practice best tests whether the organization is ready to manage changing risks?
- Monitor performance, data drift, bias, privacy, and security, with thresholds for remediation, suspension, or retirement
- Assume the initial approval guarantees that the system will remain safe
- Review the system only when employees report a serious failure
- Measure success only by how many employees have access to the tool
Answer: Monitor performance, data drift, bias, privacy, and security, with thresholds for remediation, suspension, or retirement[[cite:8]]
