Social Indicators of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa upto District level
report is an effort to provide a wide range of data on social indicators like
Population, Education, Agriculture, Health and Crime Statistics , which will
be particularly useful for Demographer s, Economist s and Sociologist s a s
well as Researchers and Policy Makers. The present edition is the 2 nd in
the series following release of population and housing census 2017 results .
The last report was published over twenty year ago in 2002.
The social indicator s report of Khyber Pakht unkhwa
provides the insi ghts of Population, Housing, Health, Agriculture and Education at the district level for
assesing the impact of policy programme implement ed during the reference period. It is an effort to provide
the sets of data or statistical information to study and analyzing the quality of services and human
behaviour. Nevertheless, the latest update of the publication is an attempt to mirror quite a few social
factors as a means to raise awareness to help stay focused on the pivotally of social behavior and will pave
a way for future demand and policy programmes for the sustainable development. I must appreciate the
endeavors of Pakistan Bureau of Statistics for providing such a useful and informative report about the
socio economic indicators. I would also like to appreciate the staff of Social Statistics Section for their hard
work and untiring efforts for accomplisment of the task.
I hope that researchers, planners and economist would find this document useful for their
specific pursuits. Comments/suggestions for improvement are welcomed, and will be highly appreciated.

PREFACE
This publication is the second attempt of collection,
compilation presentation of data on socio -economic indicators at district
and provincial level. It contains soci o-economic indicators regarding
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province at district level covering six major areas
(1) Population (2) Housing (3) Agriculture (4) Education (5) Health and
(6) Miscellaneous Indicators (Crime, Road Accidents and ICT etc.).
Social Indicators report provides the comprehensive information
about the different social indicators , which are the basic need for the
formulation of policy making , future projection and comparison with the past policies at the district level.
Every effo rt ha s been made to include the latest available data to make this report comprehensive
informative and useful document for planners, economist and researchers. Pakistan Bureau of Statistics
appreciates all kind s of the cooperation provided by the provinci al department s/agencies and Federal
Ministries for the timely supply of the requisite data.
