The Ruin the Planet Healed Around

Immense ribbed ridges enclose fragments of an unfamiliar buried object beneath a continent-scale living membrane. The formation first resembles a boundary or protective earthwork. Yet hot-magenta cellular filaments run continuously through every ridge, sealing repeated growth layers around the fragments. The 'ruin' may be scar tissue from a planet healing around something it could not digest.
