Compare the Solar System, Not the Sticker Price
Comparing solar quotes by headline price or panel count is a trap. Two offers can cover different equipment and work, so compare at least four itemised quotes like for like.

A quote should name the panel and inverter models, system size, mounting, monitoring and cabling. It should show labour separately from scaffolding, certification, grid paperwork, VAT and optional equipment.

Annual generation is an estimate, not a promise. Ask how it was calculated from your electricity use, roof orientation, shading and likely self-consumption; generic postcode estimates can mislead.
Get product, performance and workmanship warranties in writing. Ask who handles faults and whether replacement labour is covered. SEAI registration checks eligibility and compliance, not approval or a workmanship guarantee.
A written contract makes promises checkable. Record the equipment, scope, price, payment stages, date, warranties and support, plus who handles paperwork and unexpected roof or electrical problems.
