What causes the Northern Lights phenomenon?
Transcripción
The Northern Lights, or aurora borealis, are caused by charged particles from the sun colliding with Earth's upper atmosphere. These particles, which travel as fast as 45 million mph, interact with nitrogen and oxygen molecules, exciting them and creating light as they return to their normal state[2][5]. This display occurs primarily near the magnetic poles and is influenced by solar activity, with the brightest auroras often resulting from large solar events like coronal mass ejections[1][6].

What makes a viral joke?
Transcripción
A viral joke typically resonates emotionally with its audience, evoking laughter, surprise, or a sense of relatability. It often taps into current trends and pop culture references, making it timely and relevant. Humor that is simple, unexpected, and easy to share tends to spread more widely. Memes or jokes that reflect universal human experiences also enhance their shareability, encouraging people to connect and share with others[1][2][3][5].

Why the Trafalgar Square lions have no whiskers

The bronze lions beneath Nelson’s Column have no projecting whiskers. How do you cast a hair in solid metal?
Writing in 1867, Frank Buckland defended that omission. A lion’s fine, flexible whiskers would be difficult to represent in bronze; wire substitutes, he thought, would look absurd.
The heavy-looking paws raised the same problem. Fur gives a living limb a soft edge. Cast that outline in a solid material, and it can look clumsy. Buckland had seen the effect in his own plaster cast of a hare.
This is Buckland’s explanation, rather than Landseer’s recorded reasoning: the material helps explain what the sculpture leaves out.
