The Go 5 is the smallest option here; the Flip 7 is a larger travel speaker; the Charge 6 prioritizes longer playback and adds phone-charging utility. The right choice depends on how much space you will give it in your bag. All three belong to JBL’s current portable lineup, but that does not mean all three first launched in 2026. What to check before buying
Look at standard battery life before the larger Playtime Boost headline. JBL lists up to 14 hours for the Flip 7, plus two more with Boost; volume and content change real runtime. Check Auracast compatibility if you want to link speakers you already own, rather than assuming every older JBL pairs with these models. JBL Flip 7
A larger speaker is easiest to justify for a patio or a group. For solo listening while traveling, carrying less may matter more than extra output. Follow the manufacturer’s water-exposure and charging instructions even on an IP68-rated model.
