How are colored lights balanced in lighthouses?

title: 'Technical diagram of a mechanical component.'

To properly balance colored lights, that are already derived from optical combinations of maximum power, lead or dovetailed blocks of cast-iron set in cement, might perhaps be employed[1]. With regard to equalizing coloured lights, it is essential that the light is free from any outside projections and ornamentation[1]. Permanent fixtures of the tower to the rock are not required for this end[1].

To prevent their being washed away during construction, the stones should be sufficiently connected together, and fixed to the rock, to keep them in their beds[1]. The surface should, moreover, be uniform, by avoiding all outside projections, and then, after constructing with the proper adjustments, the tower will not produce an outward lateral thrust[1].
