Why do some metals conduct electricity better?

Transcription
Some metals conduct electricity better due to the presence of free electrons that can move easily within the metallic structure. Metals with more free electrons and higher mobility of these electrons generally exhibit better conductivity. For example, silver, despite having only one free electron per atom, outperforms aluminum, which has three, because of the greater mobility of its electrons. Additionally, impurities can impede electron movement, affecting conductivity levels in different metals and alloys[1][4][5][6].
