How nature recycles itself in the wild

Scavengers are nature's trash collectors.

Ranger Carl introduces scavengers as the front-line cleanup crew of the ecosystem, highlighting how coyotes, bears, and vultures feed on dead matter.

A park ranger breaks down how various fungi and molds feed on rotting wood, damp soil, and even forgotten fridge food to recycle essential nutrients back into forest ecosystems.

Why Fungi Are Nature's Secret Recyclers

A ranger displays common trash items while revealing that tin cans take a century to break down, plastic takes over four centuries, and glass containers never fully decompose.
