From where does DuckDuckGo license traditional links?
DuckDuckGo licenses traditional links from Microsoft, as stated in the document <2023.09.21-AM-Trial-Transcript_FINAL.pdf>.
The former CEO and founder of DuckDuckGo, Gabriel Weinberg, also clarified that the company gets it from Bing [Microsoft] with the ads. Ads themselves have a very strong network effect, and DuckDuckGo gets the link results with the ads, which is an incentive not to invest in the links.
