Too much detergent is making laundry worse

Here is the laundry trap: more detergent does not mean cleaner clothes. In fact, several laundry guides say using too much can leave residue on fabric, make clothes feel stiff or scratchy, and even build up in the washer so it smells musty. The fix is simple. Reset your dose to the recommended amount on the label, and for many regular loads that may be about one tablespoon, or less than you think. If your clothes already feel coated, run an extra rinse cycle, then clean the washer and dispenser area. Less soap, more rinsing, and your laundry usually comes out cleaner and fresher.
