Generous Revenge: The Dog That Saved Its Master

Transcripció

In “Generous Revenge,” a young man took his dog out in a boat, intending to get rid of it. He threw the dog into the river. Each time it tried to climb back aboard, he pushed it away with an oar. Then the man fell into the water. The dog let the boat drift away and held its master above the water until help arrived and saved his life. The account ends with that striking turn: the dog rescued the very man who had tried to drown it.
