SUB:- ADVANCE RELEASE ON EXTERNAL TRADE STATISTICS FOR THE MONTH OF MAY, 2026.

EXPORTS:

According to the provisional figures compiled by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, exports from Pakistan during May, 2026 amounted to Rs.749,452 million (provisional) as against Rs. 688,656 million in April, 2026 and Rs. 752,392 million during May, 2025 showing an increase of 8.83% over April, 2026 and decrease of 0.39% over May, 2025.

2. In terms of US dollars, the exports in May, 2026 totaled $ 2,690 million (provisional) as compared to
   $ 2,468 million in April, 2026 showing an increase of 9.00% over April, 2026 and of 0.71% as compared to $ 2,671 million in May, 2025.

3. Exports during July – May, 2025 - 2026 totaled Rs.7,827,925 million (provisional) as against Rs.8,246,790 million during the corresponding period of last year showing a decrease of 5.08%.

4. In terms of US dollars, the exports during July – May, 2025 - 2026 totaled $ 27,888 million (provisional) against $ 29,563 million during the corresponding period of last year showing a decrease of 5.67%.

5. Main commodities of exports during May, 2026 were Knitwear (Rs. 124,251 million), Readymade garments (Rs.115,407 million), Bed wear (Rs. 79,514 million), Cotton cloth (Rs.40,641 million), Rice others
   (Rs. 31,511 million), Towels (Rs. 29,229 million), Basmati rice (Rs.23,702 million), Madeup Articles (Excl. Towels & Bedwears) (Rs.18,668 million), Cotton yarn (Rs.16,733 million) and Petroleum products (excl top naphta) (Rs. 14,955 million).

7. Imports into Pakistan during May, 2026 amounted to Rs. 1,536,547 million (p rovisional) as against
   Rs. 1,880,609 million in April, 2026 and Rs. 1,594,884 million during May, 2025 showing a decrease of 18.30% over April, 2026 and of 3.66% over May, 2025.

8. In terms of US dollars, the imports in May, 2026 totaled $ 5,475 million (provisional) as compared to
   $ 6,731 million in April, 202 6 showing a decrease of 18.66% over April, 2026 and of 3.30% as compared to
   $ 5,662 million in May, 2025.

9. Imports during July – May, 2025 - 2026 totaled Rs. 17,668,819 million (provisional) as agains t
   Rs. 16,506,992 million during the corresponding period of last year showing an increase of 7.04%.

10. In terms of US dollars, the imports during July – May, 2025 - 2026 totaled $ 62,851 million (provisional) as against $ 59,148 million during the corresponding period of last year showing an increase of 6.26%.

11. Main commodities of imports during May, 2026 were Petroleum crude (Rs.195,538 million),
    Petroleum products (Rs.141,630 million), Electrical machinery & apparatus (Rs. 72,227 million),
    Palm oil (Rs.64,444 million), Plastic materials (Rs.59,462 million), Motor cars (ckd/skd) (Rs.52,886 million),
    Iron & steel (Rs.40,672 million), Iron & steel scrap (Rs.39,388 million), Natural gas liquified (Rs.36,754 million) and Raw cotton (Rs.36,390 million).

13. Based on the provisional figures of imports and exports the balance of trade in May, 2026 was
    (-)787,095 million in terms of Rupees and (-)2,785 million in US dollars. The balance of trade figures cumulative from July - May, 2025-2026 was (-)9,840,894 million in terms of Rupees and (-)34,963 million in US dollars.
