Create original illustrated summer escapes set between 1980 and 1999, mainly across the United States, with a recurring Spanish strand. Aim for approximately 70% USA and 30% Spain across a rolling collection. Keep the emotional register cool, laidback, optimistic and quietly wistful. These are places the viewer can imagine entering and staying.

Let landscape lead: coasts, desert valleys, mountain lakes, roadside overlooks, quiet waterfronts and Mediterranean coves. Motels, pools, tennis courts, terraces and parked vehicles give the landscape a human scale. Human presence is usually implied by an empty chair, a towel or a parked car. Occasional small distant figures may appear when they improve the scene; crowds and character portraits should remain rare.

For each idea, choose a place or region, a year within the period, a summer hour, one leisure setting and one small sign of life. The scene must read through its image without needing a story twist or an explanatory caption. Let the pleasure come from light, space and anticipation.

Rotate coastal, inland, urban-edge and rural settings. Use locally appropriate vegetation, buildings and terrain: desert mountains in Palm Springs; conifers and lakes in the Sierra; whitewashed walls, stone, tiled terraces and Mediterranean pines in Spain. Avoid making every location a palm-lined swimming pool.

Use period-plausible architecture, furniture and vehicles. Older objects can still exist in a later scene; avoid contemporary devices, cars and infrastructure. When an identifiable landmark, vehicle or venue is central, research its appearance in the chosen year. Do not project today's skyline backwards.

Treat all generated scenes as imagined illustrations. Dates and locations describe their setting, not archival provenance. Never invent a real hotel's history, claim an image was photographed in the period, or imply that a fictional scene documents a real event.

Use the references as visual inspiration, not as a fixed catalogue of subjects. Keep the painting language consistent while changing the location, composition, terrain and time of day. Do not introduce science fiction, glitches, dystopia, conspicuous wealth or dramatic conflict.

Editorial territories and starting ideas
The following are imagined scene seeds, not historical claims.

| Series | Starting scene | Setting |
|---|---|---|
| Pool Hours | Closed yellow umbrella beside an empty motel pool | Palm Springs, 1988 |
| Coast Radio | A shaded beach access road and distant white surf | Southern California, 1986 |
| Long Way Home | Convertible at a lakeside turnout | Sierra Nevada, 1992 |
| Last Light | Two empty chairs facing the setting sun | Ibiza, 1994 |
| Salt Air | Low pier, flat turquoise water and a folded parasol | Florida Keys, 1991 |
| Court Is Yours | An empty resort tennis court beneath dry hills | Coachella Valley, 1989 |
| Blue Distance | A lawn, low seawall and distant island ridge | Oahu, 1984 |
| Pastel Hour | Quiet Art Deco facades after the day's heat | Miami Beach, 1989 |
| Slow Coast | Pine shade over a small rocky cove | Costa Brava, 1993 |
| After Lunch | Shuttered seaside house and white plastic chairs | Mallorca, 1990 |
| Roadside Summer | A modest motel beneath broad desert mesas | Arizona, 1987 |
| Atlantic Pause | A low promenade facing broad pale sand | Cádiz coast, 1996 |

Across ten posts, aim for roughly seven US and three Spanish settings; include at least three inland scenes and three distinct landforms. Avoid consecutive images that repeat the same setting, dominant prop and light. Change at least two of geography, viewpoint, terrain, hour or focal object each time. An occasional plane or boat can suggest summer travel, but neither becomes a recurring requirement.

Research and interpretation
**Illustration lineage.** The reference set visually suggests the Japanese summer record-sleeve tradition associated with Hiroshi Nagai. This is an interpretation of appearance, not an attribution of every uploaded file. Nagai's official chronology records a US journey in 1973, the picture book *A Long Vacation* in 1979 and *Niagara Song Book* in 1982. These links between landscape, travel and music are useful context. Production prompts describe transferable visual characteristics rather than requiring an artist's name. **Miami colour.** Miami Design Preservation League's *A Pastel Paradise* presents a 1989 documentary in which Leonard Horowitz explains the pastel palette used to highlight Miami Beach's architecture. This supports using pastel facades and crisp architectural shapes for the Miami strand. The architectural styles themselves can predate the scene's 1980s setting. **Balearic pacing.** Café del Mar's official history dates its Ibiza opening to June 1980 and its first José Padilla compilation to 1994. That provides a period anchor for the proposed sunset atmosphere and 1990s Spanish strand; the generated terrace is fictional and does not depict that venue. The creative synthesis is a consistent 1980s illustration language travelling through summer settings across both decades. Treat the 1990s as a change in place, objects and cultural atmosphere while preserving the reference-led art direction.

An endless summer across the USA and Spain. Original illustrations of poolside afternoons, coastal drives, mountain escapes and Mediterranean sunsets, imagined through the colour and calm of the 1980s and 1990s.
