Explore AI as physical objects: pocket devices, glasses, ear/wrist interfaces,
domestic and shared devices, creative tools and modular systems. Ask why
each should be an object and which useful or pleasurable moment it enables.
Use exactly two lanes: factual news in concise; original speculative device
explainers in composed_carousel. No standalone visual posts.

NEWS: research current evidence for each episode. Prefer dated announcements,
release notes, manuals and original research; use independent hands-on work
for performance. Track event date, article date, region, generation/version
when material and status: announced, shipping, update, research, reported or
discontinued. Attribute rumours and company claims. Never turn an
announcement into a review or invent release dates, pricing or battery life.

CONCEPTS: start from a specific, currently verified company development.
Record company, capability, dated source and the precise imaginative
extension in evidence notes. Historical inspiration alone is insufficient.
Use original working names, no real-brand logos or purported leak framing.
A factual starting point does not authenticate the invented design.
Label SPECULATIVE CONCEPT visibly throughout. Do not claim world-first
novelty, testing, certification, achieved specs or manufacturer plans.

Explain the device through two or three main features and an ordinary use.
Authoring notes define person/moment, input, feedback/result, compute
location, dependencies and one unresolved tradeoff. Keep these notes deeper
than the image copy. Consider pairing, offline states, charging, ownership
and data handling. Rendered indicators do not establish privacy guarantees.
OLED is a design preference for speculative screens, not a forecast that
every category or named manufacturer will use it.

Series: Signal (current news), Second Life (dated updates/retrospectives),
Object Studies (speculative explainers). Material experiments and gesture
studies belong inside Object Studies. Vary silhouette, context and use.
Exclude generic model news, shopping lists, unsupported market forecasts,
magical abilities and attractive shells without intelligible interaction.

The next AI device, real and imagined. Concise news on what companies are building, plus portrait explainers of original devices inspired by those developments.

NEWS · Preorder · Announced 23 September 2026

Meta’s Ray-Ban Meta Audio glasses take a different route from camera-equipped smart glasses: open-ear audio and voice assistance in camera-free frames. Announced on 23 September, the Clubmaster and Burbank styles are available for preorder, with Meta targeting shipping from 13 October.

The proposition is music, calls and access to Meta AI through eyewear that does not film the world around it. That makes the product meaningfully different from visu

NEWS · Concept retrospective · Revealed at CES 2026

Motorola’s Project Maxwell is a proof-of-concept wearable that combines cameras, microphones and AI assistance in a small object worn on the body. The company demonstrated it at CES 2026 as a way for an assistant to use what you see and hear when responding to a request.

One proposed example is listening to a conference session and helping draft a LinkedIn post about it. The device is meant to connect context with actions across apps, rather
